Summary
The last recommendations for indications of haematopoietic cell transplantations were published by the Czech Society of Haematology and Czech Society of Oncology of the J. E. Purkyně Medical Association in the year 1997. Regarding the rapid scientific and technical development in this field an updated version of the previous report has been prepared by the authors on behalf of both professional societies. Recommendations introduced in this article arise particularly from the current practice of European transplant centers and from recommendations published by the European Group for Blood and Marrow Transplantation (EBMT) to date. The aim of this report is to bring a current guide for their correct and well-timed indication especially to hospitals not directly involved in haematopoietic cell transplantations.3
