Summary
Primary cutaneous lymphomas (CL) represent a heterogeneous group of T-cell and B-cell lymphomas with mostly different clinical behavior and considerably better prognosis than their nodal lymphoma counterparts. Accordingly, different, usually less aggressive methods of treatment are recommended for CL. Diagnostic, prognostic and therapeutic aspects of primary cutaneous lymphomas are best defined in the WHO-EORTC classification. We can await another development of this classification scheme following dynamic improvement of molecular genetics methods and investigation of novel genetic alterations and protein expression. This should result in more refined therapeutic schemes for individual subtypes of CL.
