Summary
Neurotoxicity induced by cytotoxic therapy can negatively influence the course of treatment and reduce the treatment efficacy. Possibilities to influence such neurotoxicity are limited. In this clinical observation the authors describe the results of treatment of neurotoxicity induced by cytotoxic therapy with gabapentin (Neurontin®). Gabapentin reduced intensity and frequency of neurotoxicity induced by cytotoxic therapy. The treatment was well tolerated with minimum adverse effects and contributed to better quality of life of the patients. This treatment can be recommended as a possibility in reduction of neurotoxicity induced by cytotoxic therapy.
