Summary
Methodology of the design and analysis of clinical trialss currently representa substantive branch of knowledge with its own terminology. As courses on this subject are not incorporated in the standard educational process in medicine, misinterpretation of published results of clinical trials could occur. In this paper are discussed basic terms used in the design and analysis of randomized clinical trials.
