Summary:
Common ground: The quality of life of the oncologic patients is an important aspect of complex oncologic treatment.
Population and methodology: We present outcomes of the research focused on the quality of life of the oncologic patients, which passed in the Czech Republic between the years 2000 and 2001.The research was realized with a population of patients with heterogeneous malignancies at 30 oncologic and hematooncologic sites in the Czech Republic. 384 patients in the age between 24 and 89 years filled in the form with the help of their physician. The data was then statistically processed. Results: The patients mostly complained on fatigue, pain, psychical pension and nausea. Constipation and diarrhea were lest inconvenient.
Conclusion: Fatigue is the main factor that affects the quality of life. Psychical pension, pain, level of hemoglobin, nausea, constipation, and diarrhea affect the quality of life primarily indirectly via fatigue.
