„Klinická onkologie“ (The Journal of the Czech and Slovak Oncological Societies) is journal published six times focusing on all aspects of in oncology. The publisher of the journal is Purkyne’s Czech Medical Society. The journal (ISSN 0862-495 X) is indexed in Excerpta Medica and is available online as a part of the html pages of the Czech and Slovak Oncological Societies (http://www.linkos.cz/COS_casopis.html) Journal instructions are based on recommendation of instruction for authors in biological and medical journals and ČSN ISO 690 from the year 1996. Articles for publication in journal are selected with editor board one times monthly. Non-accepted manuscripts are returned to the authors.

„Klinická onkologie“ invites papers on original research in clinical, laboratory and experimental oncology and haemato-oncology. The editors also encourage the submission of review articles, case reports, reports of meetings and book reviews and correspondence. All papers should include new data that have not been published elsewhere. The editors will also consider the publication of manuscripts containing data already in press elsewhere or published previously in unreviewed format (abstracts, etc.). Articles for publication in journal are selected with editor board one times monthly. Editor Review Board policy required two positive external peer-review reports before decision of article acceptation. If judgements are generally controversial (one positive and one negative), additional one peer-review process is required before paper
is accepted or rejected. Non-accepted manuscripts are returned to the authors.

All submitted manuscripts must be accompanied by a statement signed by main author that the article is original The publication of a manuscript will be considered on the understanding that all named authors have agreed to its submission and that if accepted it will not be later published in the same or similar form in any language without the consent of the publishers.
A Copyright Assignment Form must accompany every accepted paper. All authors are expected to disclose in a cover letter any commercial affiliations, stock or equity interests and patent-licensing arrangements that could be considered to pose a conflict of interest regarding the submitted article. If appropriate, general statements in the acknowledgements regarding such disclosures may be recommended by the editors. All experimental works published in journal must fulfill general ethical guidelines. Patients signed informed consent must be mentioned in part
„Patients and methods“ as well as ethical committee permission.

Articles in Czech, Slovak and English languages are accepted for publication. All manuscripts written in Czech or Slovak language require an additional version of the corresponding Title, Abstract and Key Words in English. There is highly recommendated that review articles should be written in Czech or Slovak languages and original articles of important news should be written in English. Editors are responsible for translation of name and article summary to Czech language for English writing authors if required.

A manuscript with two copies is routinely required including tables, graphs, photos and pictures as well as a floppy disk with the manuscript prepared using MS Word (text and tables). Do not use Excel format for tables. Manuscripts should be typed double-spaced on one side of 8“ x 11“ (A4) paper. Any special points should be emphasised in the covering letter from the submitting author. Graphs, figures and photographs must be in professional level. Authors are encouraged to publish color photographs. Every illustrations must be „marked on the reverse with name of first author and starting for words of the name of article. Pictures must be send in original form or as individual file with recognition of 200x400 pixel (TIFF, EPS format is recommended). Authors are encouraged to publish color photographs. All type of illustrations should be numbered separately (graphs, figures, photos) in numerical order with Arabic numerals. Each illustrations should have a title and a detailed legend, as appropriate, listed consecutively on a separate sheet of paper titled ‘Titles and legends to Figures’. Standard abbreviations should be used at minimum. Authors are not obliged to omit the definitions. Non-standard abbreviations should be defined in full at their first usage in the text, in the conventional manner. The use of abbreviations are not allowed in the summary.

References should follow the Vancouver format and abbreviations for titles of medical periodicals should conform to those used in the latest edition of Index Medicus. In the text they should appear as numbers starting at 1. At the end of the paper they should be listed (double-spaced) in numerical order corresponding to the order of citation in the text. All authors should be quoted for papers with up to four authors; for papers with more than four authors, the first

The first and last page numbers for each reference should be provided. Papers in press and/or papers submitted for publication may be included in the list of references.

Authors must obtain writing permission to reproduce all maps, diagrams, figures and photographs.

Contributors are provided with page proofs to read for typesetting errors according ČSN 88 0410. No important changes in data are allowed. Proofs must be returned to the publishers within 5 days of receipt. If proofs are not returned within this time period, the Editor will have the right to publish any article without the alterations. Five free offprints are supplied to the principal author. Additional offprints may be ordered.

If and when a manuscript is accepted for publication it will become the sole property of the Journal. A Copyright Assignment Form must accompany every accepted paper. It is required that any errata must be noted and corrected as soon as possible, optimally in the next issue. Any dissenting opinion concerning published papers will be published in the next issue and should be addressed to the Editorial Board.

Review
Title page should contain the title (ALSO IN ENGLISH), authors’ names (Novak J.), name of institution where work was done, telephone number (also e-mail addresse, if available) of the author to whom communications should be directed. Separate page should contain an abstract of no more than 200 words without structure and keywords in Czech or Slovak and English. Inthe end of the text of review is chapter literature.

Case Reports and Letters to Editor
The editor will consider for publication Case Reports not previously
reported in the literature as well as Letters to Editor. They should not
exceed five (three for Letters) printed pages in length; the Summary
(facultative for Letters only) should not exceed 100 words. The number
of references should not exceed ten.

Correspondence
Correspondence is encouraged. They may deal with material in published
papers or they may raise new issues.

Meeting Reports, Debates round table
Title page should contain the title (ALSO IN ENGLISH), authors’ names
(Novak J.), name of institution of authors, telephone number (also e-mail
address, if available) of the author to whom communications should be
directed. Summary and literature are facultative only. A short abstract is
optional part of the important reports.

In the end of the manuscript will be whole name of the first author including titles followed with exact address and e-mail address of the author to whom communications should be directed.
