Summary: This case report calls attention to the possibility of rare primary manifestations of malignant melanoma. In the case of suspicion of such lesions, there is necessity to search for them thoroughly. Grey-violet-light brown coloration of the skin accompanied by melanuria are usually late signs of disseminated disease. Available proliferating antigens/enzymes (tissue polypeptide antigen, thymidine kinase, neuron-specific enolase) have low specificity and sensitivity; they usually accompany disseminated disease.
