The authors describe the case of a patient with metastatic bronchogenic carcinoid complicated by life-threatening carcinoid crisis. In the article the clasiffication of bronchial carcinoid is descibed together with its diagnostic procedures and treatment and with the course of carcinoid crisis, which was succesfully treated by the somatostatin analoque octreotid. The authors conclude that this treatment significantly improved the quality of life of the patients and likely also improved his surival.
