Summary: This paper presentsa the historical review of the devolepment and application of chemotherapy in the ENT region. In the conclusion of this paper the authors discuss the importance of primary chemotherapy and the reference the pilot study of chemotherapy with paclitaxel and carboplatine in the treatment of head and neck cancer in the ENT department of the Teaching Hospital in Brno-Bohunice.
