Abstract: The exact determination of histological type and other histopathologic prognostic Signs (presence of vascular invasion, pT stage, proportion of histologic types) of testicular tumours is necessary for selecting the optimal treatment. The role of the pathologist is also to determine the histological content of removed metastases (fibrosis, necrosis, mature teratoma, viable tumour) upon which rests the decision for further therapeutic treatment.
