The prognostic relevant morphologic classification of the breast carcinoma

flag

Klin Onkol 1993; 6(5): 132-136.

Summary:
A semiquantitative analysis of selected histomorphologic features (tubularity, nuclear atypia, mitotic count) was applied in 143 cases of breast ductal carcinoma. The tumor types, categorized according to widely used WHO classification, were sorted into prognostically different subgroups, with the use of modified Bloom's grading score. Resulting simple classification, consisting of the low, intermediate and high malignancy categories, should make the individual approach in the breast cancer management more easy and reproducible. This classification is fully compatible with the commonly adopted ICDO (10th rev., 1990) morphologic terminology.
