Summary: The authors describe the malignant degeneration of the epithelial component of a cystadenolymphom (CAL) of the parotid gland. The introduction contains the WHO classification of the epithelial tumours of the salivary gland-the histopathological characteristics of CAL and subclassification of CAL into IV. subtypes. The second part of this paper includes a review based on literature findings of cases with CAL malignaney. In our case a 79 years old man visited our clinic because of a resistance in the paretideomaseteric region which lasted one year and ofter biopsy the diagnosis was sialoadenom. After extirpation it was found that the formation was a lymphatic node infiltrated by a gland carcinoma. A radical surgery with block disection was realized on the glandula parotis. The histological finding verified the malign degeneration of CAL and infiltration of the glandula parotis. The development of a carcinoma in CAL is a very rare case. In the literature only 8 cases were so far described. From the histological point they were adenocarcinomas epidermoid carcinomas or indifferent carcinomas. In our case a tubopapillar carcinoma was found.
