1454 biopsies were performed using fine needle in 1061 of patients. Final diagnosis was not stated in 77 of them (7,3%). In 984 patients the examination was helpfull in verifying the diagnosis in 923 (93,8%). Pneumothorax was caused in 191 of patients (18%). Other complications were rare. Fine needle biopsy was as effective method, usefull in diagnosy of malignant intrathoracic lesions.
