The authors draw attention to the possibility of choosing a less radical operation than a total mastectomie in a group of subjects with early diagnosis. A total analysis comprised 92 patients in 1980-1986 with surgical treatment in part with a large resection, on the other hand treated only with a partial resection of carcinoma followed by postoperative radiotherapy. They evaluate the results after a partial chirurgical resection, the effect cosmetics and the number of local relapse of the tumor. The authors answer the strict indications for the selection of patients to partial mastectomie.
