Possilibities of prognosis of the hereditary adenomatosis of the colon are discussed on the basis of the experience with 13 years follow up of patients of 4 generations in 4 families in which 25 patients were found (11 male and 14 female). In the first and second generation and in most of patients in the third generation the diagnosis is done after 40 years their age of manifestation of polyposis the basis of the developed symptomatology. The average age of the manifestation of polyposis in the group in preventive follow up in the fourth generation is 17,8 years in male and 15,6 years in female. The colectomy with ileorectal anastomosis and the endoscopic follow up of the stup of the rectum the whole life round as the optimal preventive solution is considered. The early diagnosis is the basic condition of an improvement of prognosis of the hereditary adenomatosis coli and seems to be a limiting factor. To achieve a perfect and consistent preventive examination and follow up of members of a family in which a patient with the hereditary adenomatosis of the colon was detected is the basic condition for early diagnosis.
